We would love to have you join us at our family-owned ranch in Sanford, Florida, where we take guests on guided horseback trail rides through the Lake Jesup Conservation Area. Most of our visitors either have never been on a horse or are nervous about getting back on. You'll start by meeting the horses, learning how to be comfortable in the saddle, and having your questions answered before you head out on the trail.
Our trail is a glimpse of what Florida was and still is, though you rarely see it from the highways or at the theme parks. Our group rides top out at five riders, so bring however many you have and we'll round you out with another small party. Our private ride is small groups of two or three with a guide, which is what folks pick for special occasions.
One hour · Ages 5 to 105
Not everyone who loves horses is ready to ride one, and not every child is old enough for the trail. Our Horse Experience is an hour with one of our guides and one of our horses, including a hand-led ride around the property.
You'll spend that hour grooming a horse, learning how to saddle and put on the tack, asking questions, and giving (and receiving) lots of love from these beautiful animals. You'll get a short ride with our guide in control of the horse at all times. You'll also get a meet-and-greet with our adorable bunnies, and you can even try to catch one of the chickens hanging around.
Our Horse Experience is for anyone 5 or older. The hour is built around one person, and you can add up to three more friends.
There is no age limit when it comes to loving horses!
Curt was 94 years old when he came out for a Horse Experience in December 2025. He owned and trained horses in his younger days. I loved seeing his face light up while he was grooming and feeding treats. It’s never too late to experience the love of a horse!
Hidden Palms Ranch was built out of a lifelong love of horses and a desire to share it. Beki loves to ride, and just as much she loves showing people how being around a horse can bring joy and comfort. What has grown from that is something like a family: the people who ride with us regularly, the guides who work here, and the visitors who find us on an Orlando vacation.

Hidden Palms Ranch is a family owned business. Beki and Todd moved onto their small farm in Sanford in March 2016 after years of dreaming about having their own land for horses. It wasn't long after moving in that they added their first horse, Moose. They now have eleven horses, ducks, bunnies, chickens, and Max, Cody, & Noah the farm dogs.
At Hidden Palms Ranch we have eleven beautiful, safe, and sweet trail horses: Marigold, Willow, Sawyer, Vanity, Rosie, Tucker, River, Denver, Slim Jim, Mae and Sully. Learn more about them here!
Hidden Palms Ranch is conveniently located near I-4 and the 417 in the Sanford/Lake Mary area. We are only 5 minutes from the Orlando-Sanford International Airport, 30 minutes from The Orlando International Airport, 45 minutes from the attractions, and 40 minutes from the beach.
We loved having Chad from How To Do Florida out for a ride!
